about

A fictional story about Federico, the worst postman in Pueto Rico.

lyrics

Vs1
Once upon a time ago in Puerto Rico
There lived a boy called Federico
He liked to dance and he liked to play
He was late for work every day
His mammy and pappy despaired of him
They didn’t want him living a life of the sin
There’s more to life than the fun and the games
But they loved him just the same

Vs2
His pappy was the local post master
And to make his son grow up a little faster
Federico, he did employ
To be the local post boy
His pappy gave him a brand new donkey
And though the saddle was a little wonky
He hoped over time his boy would change
But all his hopes were in vain

Ch.
A man sits watching trickling sand
As he waits for a telegram
A boy at school all alone
Waits for a note from home
A woman ordered a gramophone
So she can learn the bolero
Across the skies, you hear the cries
‘Donde esta el cartero?’

Vs3
As Federico became a man
Postal matter got out of hand
Pappy’s plan did not succeed
Scarcely a letter was ever received
For never was another like |Federico
And one day he fled from Puerto Rico
He was never ever seen again
Though his image grew in many men

Ch.
A man sits watching trickling sand
As he waits for a telegram
A boy at school all alone
Waits for a note from home
A woman ordered a gramophone
So she can learn the bolero
Across the skies, you hear the cries
‘Donde esta el cartero?’

Br
Oh, you left your donkey behind
Oh, where did you go and hide?
Think of all the women who loved you
Think of the lord’s judgement above you

You had a job to do
You didn’t see it through
You ran away, away, away, away, away

Vs4
Many years later in Puerto Rico
There lived a boy called Rodrigo
He never ever knew his pappy
His mama didn’t want to make him unhappy
Rodrigo was popular
He got along with so many another
The old post master especially
Treated him like family

Ch.
A man sits watching trickling sand
As he waits for a telegram
A boy at school all alone
Waits for a note from home
A woman ordered a gramophone
So she can learn the bolero
Across the skies, you hear the cries
‘Donde esta el cartero?’
‘Donde esta el cartero?’
‘Donde esta el cartero?’
‘Donde esta el cartero?’

Keep them dancing.
That’s the ethos that The Rin Tins have kept since their inception in early 2011 and since then the sextet have strutted from one stage to another playing high octane gypsy swing to the party hard masses.
With music that combines 5 part harmonies with swing jazz rhythms and pounding oompa beats, for 7 years they've been filling dance floors & festival tents across the UK.
